What is NHK on Demand?
This video service offers more than 16,000 dramas, documentaries, historical education, and entertainment programs broadcast by NHK for a fee.
●New programs are available from the day of broadcast or the day following the broadcast. (*Delivery period varies depending on the program.) In addition, we are constantly adding selected masterpiece dramas and documentaries from the NHK archives that have been broadcast and archived in the past.
●To use this application, you need to register as a free member on the website and purchase the programs you wish to watch. (You cannot purchase a program on this application.) If you register as a free member, you can watch free programs.
● Separately on the Web site, we offer "Single-Product" packages, in which programs are purchased individually, and "All-You-Can-Watch Packs," in which you can watch as many programs as you want during the distribution.
The most notable titles being distributed are below.
From the latest episodes of the current TAIGA: Period Drama series to more than 40 past masterpieces such as "SANADAMARU" and "Princess Atsu" are now available. The latest TAIGA: Period Drama can be viewed immediately after the broadcast.
More than 30 popular works from the latest TV series, including "Ama-chan," and "Here Comes Asa!," are now available in their entirety.
“NHK Special", "The Century in Moving Images", and "72 Hours" broadcast from the 1970s to the present are now available.
In response to requests, NHK on Demand is stepping up its efforts to dig up and distribute past programs. In the past, we have dug up and distributed a number of programs such as "Dokuganryu Masamune" and "Himawari".
