Sky Analyzer gives you the opportunity to process any sky image (already existing photo in your media folder accessed through the Gallery application or camera captured on the fly) and inform you about clear sky percentage and sun existence! Just target sky, take a snapshot and Sky Analyzer will provide you with the result! In upcoming version, Sky Analyzer will be able to detect any cloud type that exists in your sky image.
This is a “Detection of sky characteristics through sky images” related application aiming to port current scientific research to Android environment. Current related efforts assume however the existence of specialized hardware (stable and packed 180 degree cameras with fish-eye lens targeting specific area) which cannot be simulated by a mobile phone’s camera. Nevertheless, our image processing software, which is ported from Matlab based related algorithms, provide us with valid results. Our main purpose is to extend current application and align it with our scientific work, which is already verified and published (11th EMS Annual meeting, Berlin, Sep11).
NOTICE: Sky Analyzer provides reliable result in case of sky photos, any use of this application in images not depicting sky, is totally off topic.
