App for Anonymous Registration of Discrimination and Hate Crimes.
This is the Copenhagen Municipality's app for anonymous registration of experienced discrimination and hate crimes.
The most important weapon in the fight against discrimination and hate crimes is to get the experiences in light so that we can work together on prevention and combating.
We therefore need your help with registering so that together we can ensure that Copenhagen is a city where you can be who you are - without experiencing discrimination or hate crimes.
The concepts
• Hate crimes are physical or verbal attacks on a person that the attacker sees as a representative of a particular minority group, such as Jews/Muslims, gays, transgender or others. It's a hate crime when someone spits on, shouting, threatening or striking you because you're gay, transgender or non-white etc.-even when the striker just thinks you're.
• Discrimination is illegal discrimination, which is treated worse than others due to gender, gender identity, race, skin color, ethnicity, religion or belief, political view, age, disability, national origin, social status or sexual orientation. It is discrimination when you are deselected to a job or an internship, are fired, refused access to a disco, rejected for a home because you are a Jew/Muslim, non-white, man etc.
The City of Copenhagen has developed this app in collaboration with Nodes to ensure increased registration of experienced discrimination/hate crimes among Copenhageners.
The app is a tool that Copenhageners can use when experiencing discrimination/hate crimes.
The registrations that come in via the app give the City of Copenhagen an overview of where and who is exposed to discrimination/hate crimes. This information is used to contact relevant authorities on action options to combat discrimination.
The app also helps the City of Copenhagen to come into contact with Copenhageners who are exposed to discrimination/hate crimes and thereby directly advise and guide citizens
