Variant Memory is based on the kid's game Memory or Concentration where matching pairs of cards are laid face down and scattered randomly; each turn, two cards are flipped face up. If the cards are a matched pair, they are removed from play. Otherwise, they are flipped back face down. Simple, right? That's why it's a popular kid's game.
However, Variant Memory offers much more. In fact, as the game the progresses, it becomes difficult enough to challenge adults. Of course, the number of cards increases as the levels do, but there's more.
GAME PLAY VARIANTS : Two new styles - or variants - of play are introduced to compliment the pairs matching.
Find The Set - These levels show a small set of cards which the player must commit to memory - while the clock is ticking. When the player indicates they are ready, the small set is flipped face down, and a larger set is revealed. The player must then select all the cards which match those in the original set.
Sequence Matching - These levels show a sequence of cards which the player must commit to memory - while the clock is ticking. When the player indicates they are ready, that set of cards is flipped face down, and a new set is revealed. The new set will contain the same cards but in a different order. The player must then rearrange the cards to match the order of those in the original set.
CARD VARIANTS : Still sound too simple to challenge your mind? Then image not just having to remember, "Where did I see the ball?" and "Where did I see the car?" but rather, "Where did I see the soccer ball?" and "Where did I see the tennis ball?", "the volleyball?", etc. How about, a red, a green, and a blue soccer ball along with a red, a green, and a blue tennis ball?
Each card has three characteristics - the image, the image color, and the background color - which are altered to produce a staggering number of variants. YOU WILL BE CHALLENGED!

KIDS MODE: You thought 30 minutes of screen time for them meant 30 minutes of UNINTERRUPTED screen time for you. Ha! Do you love your kids but hate when a game gets too difficult for them and every two minutes it's, "Just get me past this level?" Simply go into the Settings page, turn on "Kids Mode", crank up the "Extra Time", and relax. Are the higher levels still frustrating them? Simply set a "Level Cap." When they pass that level, they will automatically be directed back to a lower level.
Have a young child learning their ABC's and numbers? A "Kids Mode" setting allows the card images to be replaced by letters or numbers. Turning on "Kid's Mode" also ensures the player will never encounter the background color variants described above, keeping things a bit simpler.
Also, remember: There are no ads for little fingers to click and no in-game purchases to run up the credit card bill.
